2016 Spring is Pink and Gold

Spring is almost here, and I’ve been waiting for it since October. I just feel to cold and I’m not a winter lover. I scanned the web for some color prophecy and I like what I see; Pinks (Coral pink, Flamingo pink), and Golds (and Mustard, and Yellow). So… What are we waiting for?

Color Therapy: Reasons why I love yellow

Yellow is my favorite color. Not pink, just a happy, simple yellow. Yellow is bold, and sometimes,  it punches up a room just by using a single item. It’s a color pop up – it’s happy, it’s modern, and it simply makes my heart feel better. I gathered these photos for showing you why yellow is my color.

6 Times Wallpaper in the Bathroom totally nailed it

A bathroom is the place we can relax in, being with ourselves and dig inspiration. It is also the place we can really be fearless with the design. A wallpaper in the bathroom may seem like a bad idea, but these 6 bathrooms might prove the opposite. What do you think?

Mell’s Kitsch colorful house in Australia

Do you know these Instagram accounts, you can’t get enough of? Mell’s house is one of them, for sure. A colorful, pink, full with vintage kitsch dolls and other goodies. It’s the kind of houses you look at and can get really curious about the person behind the walls, because really – who could possibly 1. Create it, and 2. Live inside this colorful house each and every day? A unique human being, I guess…

Mell says it all began when she started collecting Kewpie dolls around 10 years ago. Today, she lives in a totally RAD house, full with colors and joy. For me, it looks like an “I don’t give a fuck” kind of house. Or maybe an “I live my life as I wish, in its fullest” kind of house. Either way, I love the totality of it and invite you all to follow her amazing house on Instagram.

Wish List: Good vibes all around you

Do you believe in the power of words? I do. I think positive words can change my feelings, even if I do not notice that right away. That’s the reason why I never put in my house, or even at my workspace, negative messages.  I understand, that just by looking at it all day, it will be soaked in eventually.

My last month was like a roller coaster – full with new experiences – some were exciting, and others, well, just not the right type. This post comes as a cleansing breeze, and I hope it does the same for you too. I gathered some positive items I found, and I guess I really need to see on a daily basis.

Believe in the power of words. Surround yourself with positive, happy, encouraging words, and the good things will come to you.

When you’re  lost. Get lost, and run wild

DIY Inspiration: How to make patterned tiles using stencils and spray!

Wow, I really love what this talented artist does. It’s the perfect example of how creativity can make everything out of nothing.

Painted tiles are my favorite kind of flooring, I just love it. If you follow @ihavethisthingwithfloors on Instagram, you probably suffer from the same disease. I know whenever I will decorate my future dream house, It would have decorative tiles (black & white in the shower!).

Javier de Riba, an artist based in Barcelona, creates fascinating works that look like real, beautiful tile floors. Instead of actually tiling, he paints on them with stencils and spray paint.

de Riba, makes his art in abandoned buildings, which makes me so inspired to see the potential hidden in any material, and encourages me to try and dare a little more. You know “Where there’s a will there’s a way”

And some yellow too…

Interior Trends: Tropical Retreat (And pineapples!)

Pineapples, parrots and tropical leaves: This tropical trend seems to be everywhere this season. I don’t want to lose my own style for seasonal trends, but I must grab some of it: palm leaves with Art Deco touches, or just one little yellow pineapple.
I put together a collection of some favorite tropical-themed stuff.

Fun Ikea print ads from Portugal

Ikea nails it with these print ads from TBWA in Portugal. It nicely contrasts the colorful design over gray old buildings – Simple, straight forward and easy to understand.

As I see it, these ads give us the familiar look through the eye of a renovator or a designer who always sees the “After” instead of the “Before”.

Kids just wanna have fun (and so am I)

Frankly, I don’t think kids should be over styled. I grew up without thinking about how the color of my pants matches the color of my shoes, and went out just fine as an adult. In my opinion, the styling is mostly for the parents, and the kids just have to enjoy life, and have fun without being too worried about these things. However, since I became a mother, I got into this new world of kids clothes and kids stylish rooms, so I have to join the party.

Since my son was born, we moved and moved, and I steel can’t seem to find my place. These feelings stopped me from decorating his room, but now I think it’s about time I do something about it.

I found some inspirational photos of very stylish kids rooms, I hope you’ll enjoy too:

And last, Lapin&me  adorable vintage style dolls… I know I have a boy, but I think I might buy one or two for myself.
